| Bombora is an Aboriginal word for reef and Akua is the Maori word for reef. "We share a deep concern for nature and an aesthetic attraction to its patterns, texture and marks. Both living near ocean bays, we turned to the sea for inspiration. Spurred on by a stimulating beachcomb together, we explored marine debris for aesthetic possibilities for months but the novel visual imagery remained elusive to both of us."
